Bespoke
Your sector, built from scratch. The first deliverable is not a report; it is the taxonomy, the scheme deciding which patents count as your industry and which are noise. You approve it before any analysis runs.
Who this is for
The R&D lead or CEO with no IPR department, where "what are competitors patenting?" has no internal owner. A wrong taxonomy is the one failure that produces a confident, plausible, wrong report — and you know your industry better than any classification code does.
Method
- Families counted at worldwide simple-family level by earliest priority year, not publication date.
- Technology areas defined by CPC classification, filtered to the codes producers actually use.
- Recent years corrected for publication lag.
- Trends are Theil-Sen slopes with Mann-Kendall significance.
- Influence is scored from forward citations counted at family level, self-citations excluded.
Limits, stated up front
This is a screening instrument, not a freedom-to-operate search. Influence scores are withheld for recent priority years that have not had time to accrue citations. Citation counts structurally understate companies that file in few jurisdictions.
